Kimberly Winkler named 2017 Kendall County Civilian Employee of the Year

Kim Winkler

Montgomery Police Department employee Kim Winkler was selected as the 2017 Civilian Employee of the Year by the Kendall County Association of Chiefs of Police.  The 33rd Annual Respect for Law Banquet was sponsored by the Kendall County Association of Chiefs of Police and the Oswegoland Optimist Club.  The event was held at the Whitetail Ridge Golf Course on Friday, May 4th, 2018.

Kim was hired as a full-time records clerk in November of 2003. Over the past 15 years, she has worked diligently in records to establish an efficient workflow through interruptions and additional demands placed on her by management.

Kim demonstrates her abilities to multi-task and meet deadlines on a daily basis with minimal supervision.  Over the past 3 years the records division has transitioned to a different dispatch center (KenCom), increased staffing levels, and incorporated a new field-based reporting system.  All of these changes have directly affected our records division, and Kim has embraced the changes with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Due to her ability to prioritize effectively, there has been no lapses in customer service or productivity while training her new teammates.

She volunteered to take the lead by managing the raffle items for the department’s 2017 Halloween Safety Event.  While the event grew to over 1,000 attendees, she completed the set up and maintained the list of winners and contacted them all and arranged pick-up of winning items. She actively engaged the community and represented the Village of Montgomery in a positive light.
