[ARCHIVED] Speed Awareness Day on Route 30

In conjunction with faces4.org (Families Against Chronic Excessive Speeding), more than a dozen Police Departments will be out in force along Route 30 on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 to educate motorists through both enforcement and education. Participating Police Departments include:
Crest Hill Police Department
Illinois State Police Department
Joliet Police Department
Kendall County Sheriff’s Department
Montgomery Police Department
Oswego Police Department
Plainfield Police Department
Will County Sheriff’s Department
The primary emphasis of Speed Awareness Day will be the enforcement of laws associated with the posted speed limits along Route 30. A secondary emphasis will be placed on commercial motor vehicle enforcement along with enforcement of the laws associated with highway railroad grade crossings in close proximity to Route 30.
Please help make the roads safer for yourself, other motorists and pedestrians by always obeying the speed when travelling on Route 30.
