[ARCHIVED] Village of Montgomery Promotes Two in FY2014 Budget

Mike Klupar and Jerad Chipman

Mike Klupar and Jerad Chipman have received promotions at the Village of Montgomery. Members of the Community Development Department, Klupar and Chipman are being recognized for their leadership and expanded role in the Village.

“Both employees have been an integral component of this organization’s success during the past several years,” said Assistant Village Administrator Jamie Ludovic, who supervises Klupar and Chipman. “Thanks to their hard work and unwavering dedication to this community, the Village is well-positioned to address building and planning needs.”

Klupar was promoted to Building Inspections Supervisor and Chipman was promoted to Senior Planner. Klupar has been a Village employee since September 2004, serving in the past as Building Inspector and Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer. Klupar, who has an associate degree in criminal justice, handled all building-related duties for several years after department changes left him as the sole inspector. He is a Certified Building Inspector through the International Code Council, a universally recognized standard-setting organization.

“Mike has been directly involved in managing the building division for many years,” Ludovic said. “I am certain he will continue to represent Montgomery effectively.”

Chipman has worked as a Planner for the Village since 2008. He was an integral member of the grant writing team that netted $100,000 for the Village’s comprehensive plan.

“Jerad has made numerous contributions to the Village’s development,” Ludovic said. “His promotion is a reflection of his hard work.”

Chipman has also been instrumental in additional long-range planning activities, including the 2009 Transit-Oriented Development Plan and Park and Ride Study (TOD Plan) and the Western Development Subarea Plan. Chipman earned a Bachelor of Science in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University. He has also earned his certification as a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
