[ARCHIVED] Montgomery to Host Comprehensive Plan Visioning Charrette

Montgomery residents and stakeholders are invited to participate in a Visioning Exercise to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11th at Montgomery Village Hall.

The Village of Montgomery is entering the next step, creating a community vision, goals and objectives, in their Comprehensive Plan called “Go Montgomery.” The purpose of this step will be to establish an overall “vision” for the future of Montgomery that can provide focus and direction for subsequent planning activities and serve as the cornerstone of the consensus building process.

The Charrette will be your chance to put pen to paper and map out what you want to see in Montgomery. Working in both small and large group sessions, you and your fellow neighbors will collaborate to identify conditions and potentials for the Village. Your feedback from the Charrette will be used in conjunction with other steps in the planning process to serve as the foundation for the preparation of the Montgomery Comprehensive Plan recommendations. A visual preference survey will also be available on the Village’s Go Montgomery website.

The final plan will address land use and development, transportation, neighborhoods, parks and open space, the environment, community facilities, and much more. The entire planning process takes approximately ten months, and will result in a Comprehensive Plan that will serve as a foundation for decision making in the coming years. The planning process will help to foster stewardship for the community and will address quality of life issues for all residents.

Go Montgomery can’t be completed without the participation of residents, property owners, and other stakeholders from throughout the community. Your input and ideas are important, and the Village needs to hear what you have to say. Your participation will ensure that decisions made by Village leaders are aligned with long-term goals determined by the community.
