[ARCHIVED] “Lady of Copper”

Statue of Liberty

Illustrator/presenter Jim Weren will be presenting his lecture entitled "Lady of Copper" - the story of how French sculptor August Bartholdi conceived of and created the Statue of Liberty - at 10:00 a.m. on February 11, 2014 at the Montgomery Village Hall. The presentation will be sponsored by Willow Home Care and The Tillers.

To quote Jim Weren, "Often a work of art is so powerful we overlook who the artist was that created it. The Statue of Liberty is an enormous artistic architectural and engineering achievement. Knowing that dramatic story enhances the enjoyment and appreciation of the most American of America’s symbols.”

This program is offered by the Village of Montgomery as part of its Senior Citizen Program. There is no charge and the event is handicap accessible.

The monthly Senior Lunch and activity for ages 55 and up will begin at 11:00 a.m. after the presentation. There is a $4 charge for the lunch and pre-registration for lunch is required by February 5th. Bingo will be sponsored by The Tillers.

For additional information, please call the Montgomery Village Hall at (630) 896-8080 ext. 1559.
