Senior Presentation January 8th

At 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8th, a presentation on Safety and Crime Prevention Tips for Seniors, including information on common scams, will be offered in the Board Room at the Village Hall, 200 N. River Street.  Deputy Chief Armando Sanders will present the program.

Sanders explained, “As people grow older, their chances of being victims of crime increase dramatically.  Even though they may be on the lookout constantly for physical attack and burglary, sometimes they’re not as alert for frauds and con games – which in reality are the greatest crime threats to seniors’ well-being and trust.  A few of these crimes include Letter Scams, Phone/Telemarketer Fraud, and Home Repair Fraud.  We will also review crime prevention and safety tips while at home, in the car, and in public.”

This free event is being offered by the Village of Montgomery.  There is no charge and the building is handicapped accessible.  The monthly Senior Lunch and activity will begin at 11:00 a.m. after the presentation.  There is a $4 cost for the lunch and pre-registration is required.

For additional information on this event, please call the Montgomery Village Hall at (630) 896-8080 ext. 9023.
