Statement to the Community from Village President Matt Brolley

Regarding the unfortunate situation that resulted in the discharge of a firearm at Rosati’s last evening, we have long championed restaurants that offer a safe, family-friendly dining atmosphere and this type of activity will not be tolerated in our community. This morning, the owner agreed to my request for an immediate 10-day suspension of their liquor license. This will give all parties adequate time to review the situation and determine if, and under what circumstances, future liquor sales would be appropriate at this location. At this time, the owner and their staff have been in full cooperation. I want to commend Chief Phil Smith and our Police Officers for their continued efforts to keep us safe.

Montgomery Police are processing information and evidence from the incident and are actively working to identify the circumstances that led up to it. This investigation is in the initial stages, but preliminary information suggests that this was a targeted crime, not an act of random violence, and that there is no immediate threat to the community.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

Police ask anyone who may have information or who was in the area at the time of the shooting to contact police at 630-897-8707. Arrangements can be made for information to be shared privately with police. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may also submit tips to Crime Stoppers at (630) 553-5999

Montgomery Police reminds citizens that information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous. Calls are routed to a third-party national call center that receives your information, completes a tips information form, and then passes the information to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
