Montgomery’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place on December 1st at Village Hall, 200 N. River Street, Montgomery with over 1,000 community members enjoying the joyful event. The event was hosted jointly by the Village of Montgomery and the Greater Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce (GMACC).
The event kicked off with festive music performances from students from local schools, followed by the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in fire trucks with sirens blasting. New for 2019 was the elf workshop where holiday games and craft stations were available for kids to enjoy. Also new, the Merry Mixer by Ozinga was on display and decked out with more than 32,000 programmed lights on its signature red and white cement mixer.
Couldn’t make it to the Tree Lighting? Don’t panic! The Festival of Trees runs now until December 23 during regular business hours. Visitors of all ages are invited to vote for their favorite tree and enjoy the decorations.
